As reported by Dragzine, the mighty Dodge Demon recently went head-to-head against a Corvette ZR1 in an epic duel at the Richmond Dragway. But while the Demon was built to set blistering quarter-mile times and has more horsepower, it was defeated by the supercharged 755-hp Corvette ZR1. Chevrolet According to Dragzine, the ZR1 was completely stock except for its drag radial tires.

It isn&#39;t known how the Demon was set up or if it was optimally equipped for the race, but it doesn&#39;t appear to be wearing skinny tires at the front. If it was properly set up, the Corvette ZR1 doesn&#39;t stand a chance in theory.

It might not be clear in the video, but according to Dragzine the Demon set a time of 11.59 seconds at 134 mph, while the Corvette ZR1 beat it with a time of 10.20 seconds at 137 mph. If both cars were properly set up, the Demon theoretically should have won - but drag racing isn&#39;t just about the car.

A faster reaction time can make all the difference. In this case, the Demon had a much better start than the ZR1 but encounters some traction issues. It seems that some drivers are struggling to tame the Demon and achieve the quarter-mile times Dodge claims the car is capable of.
