Despite trailing 26-18 at halftime, Tennessee (18-4, 7-2 Southeastern Conference) was able to outscore the Crimson Tide 46-28 in the second half.

The Spartans (15-7, 7-2 Big Ten) opened the second half on a 28-13 run to lead 67-51 with 9:24 left and led by double digits from there. Purdue's KK Houser was leading all scorers with 17 points when she left the game with 5:12 left due to a leg injury. She elevated for a jump shot, came down holding her knee and had to be helped off the court.
