The body was 3D printed and includes an Expansion Pak as standard; you simply charge it up, slot in your chosen game and any necessary memory expansions and away you go. There's something particularly cool about seeing the likes of GoldenEye 007 on a portable screen, and being able to chuck your cartridges into a portable console like this would be a great way to avoid the faff of getting your old N64 down from the loft every time you fancy a quick game. You can .

smackedsam notes that he intends to put the design up for sale and says to keep an eye on the video's comment section for updates. What a time to be alive, huh? Let us know if you'd buy one of these in the comments below.

Share: About Ryan can list the first 151 Pokémon all in order off by heart – a feat he calls his ‘party trick’ despite being such an introvert that he’d never be found anywhere near a party. He’d much rather just have a night in with Mario Kart and a pizza, and we can’t say we blame him. Comments ) The video has been taken down?

Great concept but too bulky sadly. meh looks horrible and indeed too bulky if Nintendo had any sense they would have released a N64 Classic years ago I would even pay more for online if they added more like N64, Gamecube, gameboy (all versions) DS, 2DS etc. Thought Benheck did this years ago already.

Yeah they should have released aN64 mini in 2018 already. It's like Nintendo stops giving a toss when its not NES or SNES anymore.

It looks more of a nightmare! Button placement is awful and why has it got a 16:9 screen?

Everything will be stretched and generally look crap. Or better yet put the games on switch online! The screen ratio is an absolute non-starter.

You know, that handheld system that plays Super Mario 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Zelda Majora's Mask, and Star Fox 64. Those are the five best N64 games, and they all look better on the 3DS. This guy wasted his time making that portable N64.

actually there's a game i'm not sure if it's even real or a dream, thought i remember seeing it at a store demo station but never had the chance to play myself when i was super young. it was a 3d game where the player character could turn into enemies they encountered like a giant horse and flying dino. might not have even been the n64 i'm extremely not sure what it was.

Well at the rate they add systems to the online service, we probably have like another half year before anything else is added. But I bet N64 comes eventually.

Now a days this just seems pointless. Yeah considering it's a custom made handheld you would think they would have found themselves a cheap 4:3 LCD off ebay and made it with that.

And no option to play the overwhelming majority of N64 games in their native 4:3 aspect ratio? :/ where's the Z button on this thing? These things are always cool to look at, but I'd still prefer N64 games ported to Switch.

Id prefer to play them with the controller that was intended .... and also to have 15+ games instead of a couple each 6 months. (Also you could hack the minis and add EVERYTHING you wanted) Interesting idea, terrible design.

Buttons are too small, d-pad look stiff, screen size is wrong, and the overall layout just doesn't look right. A redesign would be appreciated. If he could make one with a better design and without sacrificing an actual N64 then I would love to buy one.

Well Nintendo would probably have the N64 controller release alongside the online. However, I would prefer to have them online from a portable perspective but there's merits to a dedicated mini system. It seems like Nintendo is just sitting on a gold mine of historical games that people just want to see remastered for the switch.
