That&#39;s no small feat considering the M2 is one of BMW M&#39;s best driver&#39;s cars in a long time. But there&#39;s a problem: you won&#39;t be able to buy one for much longer because BMW only plans to sell the M2 CS for one model year. BMW also hasn&#39;t decided if the M2 will get the lightweight CSL treatment.

Like the M2 CS, a carbon-fiber roof has been fitted to lower the car&#39;s center of gravity. The front spoiler and rear diffuser are finished in carbon fiber while a new rear spoiler has been fitted to increase the downforce and give the car a sportier look.

Lightweight Performance has managed to extract 494 hp and 481 lb-ft of torque from the BMW M2 Competition&#39;s 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six - that&#39;s 50 more hp and 75 more lb-ft than the M2 CS. As a result, 0-62 mph now takes 4.3 seconds, which is a tenth of a second quicker than the standard car.
