The V10-powered Huracan Evo has to make do with conventional doors. Although it's not quite a supercar (yet), the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has famously gone mid-engine, a design change that gives America's beloved sports a far more exotic look.

It was never even a topic whether Chevy planned to give the C8 conventional doors or not, but this hasn't stopped an aftermarket tuner from doing so. Scottsdale, Arizona-based Eikon Motorsports, a company already with plenty of experience doing scissor door conversions, has revealed its new kit for the C8. Pre-orders are now being accepted with a list price of $2,899 for the kit itself, or $4,300 with installation.

Eikon Motorsports Eikon Motorsports Chevrolet The doors themselves are actually manufactured by a company called Vertical Doors, and the kit also includes two gas shocks and a direct bolt-on hinge kit. And yes, this is completely reversible as they mount to a factory bolt pattern, in case anyone changes their minds. These doors are made from carbon steel and all pivot and strike points are heat treated.

If you're handy enough, it'd probably be best to save some money and do the installation yourself. Despite the fact the doors and associated accessories come with a lifetime warranty, we're still concerned about what would happen to the factory warranty. Lamborghini Lamborghini Chevrolet After all, kit buyers would be altering the C8's body, a fact that could possibly invalidate the original warranty.

Those interested really should carefully read over the warranty's fine print or consult with a Chevy dealership before doing anything. However, the powertrain warranty should be unaffected. Still though, does adding Lamborghini-style scissor doors to a perfectly fine new C8 really make it look any better?
