Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation are often referred to by fans as the Zenithia trilogy, as they are set in the same world at different points in history. The world of these games has a floating city known as Zenithia, which is home to a race of winged humanoids that are similar to angels. THEGAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY The games in the Zenithia trilogy are told in reverse chronological order, with Dragon Quest VI happening first and Dragon Quest IV taking place at the end of the timeline.

In each of these games, there are four pieces of armor that are incredibly powerful and are tied to the plot. In Dragon Quest VI, they are known as the Armor of Orgo, the Helm of Sebath, the Sword of Ramias, and the Shield of Valora.

They gain legendary status over time and they become known as the Zenithian equipment in Dragon Quest IV and Dragon Quest V. A major part of the stories of Dragon Quest IV and Dragon Quest V involves gathering the Zenithian Armor, Zenithian Helm, Zenithian Sword, and Zenithian Shield. The Zenithia trilogy was huge in Japan and the games are regarded as some of the best entries in the Dragon Quest series, so it's possible that the DLC in Pokémon Sword & Shield was named after the Zenithia equipment.

There is now Pokémon Sword & Shield, with the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra matching the four pieces of Zenithian equipment. The Dragon Quest and Pokémon series recently crossed over in and those who worked on the series mentioned how awesome it was to see characters like Erdrick use a Poké Ball in . Dragon Quest helped to create the JRPG genre and Pokémon partly owes its existence to the series, so it wouldn't be surprising if the developers were referencing the Zenithia trilogy with the latest Pokémon DLC.
