Last week, Elon Musk announced the Tesla Model S had set a new lap record for four-door sedans at Laguna Seca. In the meantime, Tesla has also been preparing to attempt a new lap record at the Nurburgring to beat the Porsche Taycan, which currently holds the record for the fastest four-door EV at the Green Hell.

This wasn&#39;t an ordinary Model S, but a modified prototype equipped with wider fender flares, larger wheels with grippy Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport RS tires and carbon-ceramic brakes, and a trunk lip spoiler. A roll cage was also installed inside and the lower grille opening has been enlarged.
