Swedick’s round could have been even a little better, as she got as low as 5-under-par but bogeyed her final hole after overshooting her approach shot and failing to get up and down. “It was a little tough because it was my last hole. I had that same distance like five times today, and I left every single one a little short coming back,” said Swedick, who won both the NYSPHSAA Girls Championship and the NYS Women’s Amateur over the summer.

“My swing is definitely not my “A” swing right now, but that’s OK because I was just able to put a Band-Aid on it and come out and just play golf. That’s what this day is all about — to play with your teammates and have some fun,” she said.

“I was able to make some putts today, but that’s because I left my approach shots a lot closer to the hole than I did. [during the individual championship last Monday].” Swedick said she doesn’t have any competitive rounds remaining this fall.

According to her mother, most of Kennedy’s time will be spent on narrowing down her college choices, which now include the likes of the University of Virginia, Stanford, Yale and Vanderbilt, among others. “I really don’t have any tournaments left, although I do go south on vacation and play,” she said.

Every single girl is a wonderful player and a great person. We all really support each other. It’s so nice to have this kind of support and being part of such a fantastic group.” Meanwhile, although Swedick has another year of scholastic competition to look forward to, Criscone only has one more tournament as part of the Albany Academy juggernaut — the state tournament next spring.

We’ve done some amazing things over the last couple of years, and it will be fun to look back at all we’ve accomplished. It’s a little sad that I won’t be here with the girls next season.” Criscone, the 2022 NENY PGA Junior Tour Player of the Year in her division and the winner of more than 100 local junior events, recorded three birdies against four bogeys. Von Rohr, the medalist in last Monday’s Individual Sectional Championship with a 71 – ending Swedick’s two-year run — had a pair of double bogeys Sunday, but she did roll in two birdies.
