Someone’ s Found Out Exactly What Death Stranding Is About 22 August 2019 by Mel Ramsay Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding has been a bit of a mystery. Every time we learn a bit about it, it gets even more confusing. Well, that is until now.

At Gamescom, a journalist called Josh West from GamesRadar managed to find out exactly what’s going on in the game. To cut a long story short, the game is about walking.

As underwhelming as that sounds, there’s obviously a lot more to it. West reckons that the game is about connections, and says that the main mission of the game is to walk along the East coast of America to the West.

You have to reactivate ‘various communication nodes along the way in an effort to spread a message of hope to a nation that has become fragmented and disconnected’.ADVERT ADVERT The President of the United Cities of America’s daughter, Amelie, walked the same route prior to the start of the game, and you follow in her footsteps. Her reasoning was the same as yours, to get communication back up and running. Amelie’s mission was to spread a message of unity from her mother, Bridget, who is dying.

There’s obviously lots of other bits and bobs, some of the fragmented cities don’t particularly want to be reunited. There’s ‘Void Outs’ which are what happens when you ‘come back from the other side’.

And these were used to destroy a place called Central Knot City in the form of a terrorist attack. Despite the simplicity at its core, Death Stranding is still one of the most highly-anticipated games of this year. From what we’ve seen, it looks beautiful.

At Gamescom, a new piece of information was revealed that we weren’t quite expecting – you will be able to use pee as a weapon. ADVERT ADVERT You will be able to use the left and right trigger to control the direction of the pee, although if you wanted to be a bit of a voyeur and see it from the front – you can’t.

He explained that if enough players pee in the same spot, “something good will happen”. An example of this was shown during the new footage, where we saw a mushroom grow bigger after it had been peed on.

He also explained that it will be able to be used as a weapon. ADVERT ADVERT In terms of what else we know about the game, there’s not much to go on. We know there’s a character called Margaret Qualley (aka Mama) and she’s connected to one of the ‘invisible babies’ who leave tracks behind The game will also incorporate ‘interdimensional breastfeeding’.

Recently, there have been certain clues regarding the soundtrack, and it’s starting to look like Bring Me The Horizon may be involved with the game. ADVERT ADVERT The creator of Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima, has been a BMTH superfan over the last few days. Firstly, he tweeted that the band had come to visit Kojima Productions’ office while they’re over in Japan for their tour.

Twitter On a similar note, it seems that the rumours of the game coming to PC might have a grain of truth to them after all…ADVERT The supposedly-PS4 exclusive is no longer listed on the PlayStation website’s list of exclusive games, suggesting that a PC release may be on the cards for the future.
