-- Saint Rose extended its season-long shutout streak to five games with a 1-0 victory at Northeast-10 Conference rival Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights (5-0/2-0 NE-10) manufactured a 16-4 advantage in shots, including an 8-1 differential throughout the final 45 minutes, and generated eight corners while yielding just a pair.

In the process, Saint Rose avenged last year's 1-0 NE-10 Championship semifinal setback to the Penmen that halted the Golden Knights' run at a sixth consecutive conference title. Saint Rose, ranked No. 2 in the most recent coaches' poll, reversed that tally via sophomore midfielder Jennifer Busk, who scored the game's lone goal when she collected a pass from senior midfielder Laura Taylor and let go a 25-yard blast that went inside the far right post.

MSUB fell to 2-1-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference action. Catherine Miles put WWU ahead 1-0 in the 16th minute, scoring off a scramble in the box as Brina Sych was credited with an assist. MSUB tied it at 1-1 in the 29th minute when a Viking defender passed the ball back to goalkeeper Alyssa Beauchamp, who was advancing too fast and overplayed it.

The Vikings went ahead to stay in the 43rd minute when freshman Erin Russell scored her first collegiate goal from 15 yards off the goalkeeper's hand after receiving a pass from Delanee Nilles. WWU scored twice in the final 10 minutes.

The Spartans jumped on the board with a goal by forward Kaley Ward with two minutes remaining in the first half. Fellow freshman Paige Smith brought a change of pace to the game with her substitution and launched the ball to Ward recording the assist. Keeper Alyson Gregorowicz did not see any action in the first half, as the Sharks were unable to get a shot off against the Spartans as Tampa outshot Nova by a 9-0 margin.

Minnesota State fell in an early hole two minutes in when BSU junior Mary O'Brien got loose on a breakaway behind the Maverick back line and deked junior netminder Molly McGough before finishing in the back of the net. However, in the 27th minute, senior Courtney Vallarelli ripped a shot from the top of the box and over the reach of BSU freshman Amanda Garvin for her third goal of the year, evening the match at one apiece.

Six minutes later, fellow junior Emily Moris made it a 2-1 Maverick lead when she drove home a rebound after sophomore Korey Kronforst's shot on goal for her first marker of 2013. At the break, MSU held a 9-3 edge in shots and 6-1 advantage in shots on goal.

The Purple and Gold had a pair of close chances in the second half as a goal was wiped off the board in the 56th minute after an offside call, and junior Kate Sandon drilled the crossbar in the 80th minute, but MSU would cement the victory in the 89th minute. With the Beavers desperately attempting to tie the match, Kronforst slipped through the BSU defense and tucked her second goal of the year into the right side adding an exclamation point to the 3-1 win.
