The manga The Electric Tale of Pikachu even gives a look into some of the horrible acts committed by first-gen ghost-types. In the anime and games both, we have also seen mischief coming from several ghost-types over the years. Since this is such a strange typing, there are tons of mysterious and topics many trainers would rather not discuss.

They Steal Children
While some players may know about Drifloon, there are several other ghost-types associated with stealing children.

Duskull and Benette also seem to target children although, these Pokémon seem to be a bit more aggressive then Drifloon. It's surprising that parents are so willing to let their children go on adventures with creatures like these wandering around. It's also a bit unsettling that no one ever talks about this horrifying topic in-game.

Does Everyone Turn Into a Ghost Type
We know that some ghost-types like Gengar come from humans, but what determines who turns into a ghost-type. In the games, anime, and manga, we have seen several examples of human ghosts and even the ghost of a scorned Marowak. While some ghost-types like Frosslass have specified conditions like being frozen alive, others like Rotom are more of a mystery.

While many people will talk about the haunter that terrorizes Saffron City in the manga, there are tons of references to murderous ghost-types.

Mimikyu, in particular, is noted to murder anyone who sees's under its costume whether it was an accident or not. There are also Cofragigas and Gourgeist who tend to trap or physically attack their victims until they are killed. This is another topic that is seemingly ignored by every region in the games, which is strange since criminal organizations are sure to irritate these creatures.

Are They Immortal
During the whole series, there have only been a handful of instances where a ghost-type may have died. Many entries point to both humans and Pokémon have become ghost-types after certain circumstances have been met.

What happens when a ghost-type faints and isn't healed. Do they just disappear, can a ghost-type turn into another ghost-type if the right conditions are met? What about the first trainers, what happened to the ghosts they caught?

They Can Always Escape
One of the benefits of keeping a ghost-type on your team is the ability to always escape from battle. For some , this can be an effective strategy when trying to catch higher level Pokémon, but most of the fanbase seems to not be aware of this ability. It's also never really mentioned in the gamer series; the only way to find out is by running a test and recoding the escape rate.

We know that there are some ghosts with dual types, but what exactly separates a ghost-type from the ghost of a human or a scorned Marowak?

Could ghosts that look like humans potential by caught and used in battle, or are they completely different from a human who has become a Gengar? While we are sure that this would cause the world of Pokémon to develop a religion, it would be interesting to look into.

The thin line between human and Pokémon needs more clarification.
They Can Control You
It's not surprising that a ghost-type is able to possess humans, but like many other facts, no one seems to acknowledge this truth. Sandyghast and Palossand are both ghost-types that take control of nearby humans.

They use these humans to make their bodies bigger and more refined. While this is generally a mostly fact, it's noted that Palossand has been found with bones. This could mean the humans poor at sandcastle building are killed on sight.

Do Ghost Type Seek Out Their Trainers
Some Pokedex entries like the one for Gengar state that some ghost-types seek out companions. This is interesting since Yamask is another ghost-type that remember it's human life. This makes us wonder if there have been cases where a Yamask tries to seek out its former family in order to keep close to them.

They Will Drain Their Trainers
If you own a Litwick or Honedge, then be careful. Both of these ghost-types are noted to take the energy from humans around them.

Litwick, in particular, is stated to drain the life-force of humans when it's flame is lit. Honedge will drain your life force when you touch its ribbon.

This is another huge plot point that is never touched on even though there are dedicated trainers like Agatha. Either way, it's a bit surprising that any trainer would want a ghost-type partner.
What is There True Form
While some ghost-types don't hide away, others like Mimkyu and Banette are a bit more mysterious.

These creatures, as mentioned above, have been known to be possessive over there temporary bodies and will even kill those they love when compromised. This leads us to wonder what these creatures truly look like or if they are just human ghosts inhabiting strange objects. We also wonder how attached a ghost-type is when it posses a doll or costume.
