This insanely mobile hero can be very tough to kill if played well enough. His ability to leap about and punch the living daylights out of the squishier targets can be quite useful, especially when aiming for vulnerable healers in the backline.

Not only this - Doomfist tends to thrive in this meta rife with shields and defenses, making him a threat to tanks as well. Most DPS heroes that can solo effectively tend to be optimal for climbing. Yet, this is particularly the case with Doomfist given his power and mobility, especially for the current meta.

Considering he's still fairly new and has some odd mechanics, opponents are often taken aback by 's deceptively impactful skillset. This can make this shield tank a solid choice for climbing, especially in the lower tiers.

His ability to whip out a 900 barrier HP, which sports a pretty swift cooldown, can make him a defensive juggernaut. Furthermore, the fact that he can bust this out just about anywhere, at any time makes him pretty versatile - akin to Reinhardt mixed with Orisa. His Ultimate, Gravitic Flux, which power slams anyone caught in its path, is an absolute beast as well.

Orisa
As long as we're talking shield tanks, this Guardian robot makes for a solid choice more often than not as well. Provided you've got good support behind you, she can be a force to be reckoned with, particularly in defensive situations that require you to hold the point. On top of having 200 health and 250 armor, she can also bust out a Fortify move which grants 40% damage resistance, and can often toss shields in front of her.

As these have 600 HP and last 20 seconds, they're not easy for opponents to break through. She can also be a devastating offensive weapon, especially when using Supercharger, which boosts the damage of everyone in its vicinity.

Moira
While she's received her share of nerfs, Moira's still a very useful hero, and usually a safe bet in competitive across the board. The only exceptions might be a stage like Watchpoint: Gibraltar, which has a lot of high ground. Overall though, you can achieve much with Moira, and with relative ease.

Her ability to spray both healing and damage, covering multiple targets in range at once, makes her very efficient. Damage/healing-over-time orbs can be tossed into chokepoints, through shields, and will bounce around in indoor areas. Her ability to Fade also gets her out of trouble quickly, and allows her to be fairly independent.

Genji
While he can be quite vulnerable, Genji is a that sports many tools and offensive prowess in the right hands. His mobility is insane, with his ability to swiftly hop around in mid-air, climb walls, deflect oncoming fire, and dash.

This mech-piloting pro gamer has seen a slew of boosts and nerfs over the years. And while she isn't always the greatest defender, D Va still makes for an all-around versatile off-tank. This is especially the case now that the cooldown of her Boosters has been reduced from 5 to 3 seconds, adding to her speed/mobility.

Between the rapid-fire Fusion Cannons, potent Micro Missles, and beastly Self-Destruct, she can be quite powerful. And she can still absorb quite a bit of damage, given her 600 total health and on-the-fly Defense Matrix. D Va can help you notch some wins in competitive without having to worry too much about help from teammates, at least at the lower levels.

One of the newest heroes happens to be one of the best, and arguably the best support player all-around; at least in the current meta. This combat medic doesn't just crank out lots of healing and shielding; he also plays a bit like a support version of Soldier 76, with his accurate hitscan shooting.

His Amplification Matrix, if well-placed, can make a dent, and his Exo Boots allow him to cover much ground. You've got the Immortality Field, Regen Burst, and the ability to spam your Biotic Launcher, making you a protective healing machine.
