By the end of this decade, Nissan expects electric vehicle sales in China to reach 50% of all models and 80% in Europe. However, Nissan believes that gas-powered cars will still be selling strongly in the United States and China in 2030. Even though Nissan got a headstart on most rivals with the successful Leaf, other automakers have caught up with and even surpassed Nissan with a brace of newer, more exciting EVs.
