At the time, we reported the new 8C will be a mid-engined supercar with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and a hybrid powertrain. A twin-turbo engine was said to power the rear axle mated to an electric motor at the front to deliver a combined output of 700 hp.

The electric motor at the front axle, which will be supplied by Ferrari and used in the upcoming Maserati Alfieri sports car, will add another 200 hp, resulting in a total output of around 800 hp. That puts the new Alfa Romeo 8C in Ferrari 812 Superfast territory. Thanks to its electrified all-wheel-drive system, the new 8C will also benefit torque vectoring and strong traction.

Production is likely to be capped to no more than 1,000 units, which would match the total production run of the previous Alfa Romeo 8C coupe and Spider. As well as a new 8C, Alfa Romeo is also reviving the GTV in the form of a 600-hp performance coupe based on the Giulia.
