At BlizzCon 2019, attendees had a chance to play some of their favorite games, as well as demos for upcoming titles like on MSI products. Vigor GK50 Low Profile Gaming Keyboard
Via: msi.com Talk about a real treat. Personally, I favor mechanical keyboards and was excited at the prospect of a slim model, yet highly skeptical at the notion of properly integrating both features.

MSI is using a new custom switch and claims to be comparable to MX Blue style switches, and at a mere 34mm, has a lot to prove. MSI achieves its goal by cutting the pre travel and total travel relative to a standard mechanical keyboard by about 25% for each. With a brushed metal top plate and matte coating for the keycaps, the entire piece looks and feels fantastic. The RGB lighting comes with various patters and allows for customization through the MSI dragon center software.

The shortcuts are numerous, but still useful. Volume and track control, activation of their AFTERBURNER software, and customization of the RGB happens with only a couple of clicks.

Via: msi.com After a few days of non-stop writing, the keyboard was clearly able to handle hours of typing, all with the satisfying clicks of a standard-sized mechanical keyboard. This could be one of the most comfortable slim keyboards on the market today, and the only reason to go with a full-sized alternative would be personal preference in desiring the more pronounced keys of a larger mechanical keyboard.

Clutch GM30 Gaming Mouse
Via: msi.com The Clutch GM30 Gaming Mouse is truly designed with for FPS gamers and is small and lightweight compared to some of the larger gaming hardware available. The sides and scrolling wheel offer grips that are heavily textured and feel as though they contour to one’s hand in an instant, and it felt great for everyday tasks on a work PC as well as in gaming.

The RGB lighting looks great and can be matched to work with the keyboard using the control center. The lights are positioned in the middle of the mouse, and this is a nice design choice.

Other hardware options with RGB colors can sometimes be too much, plastered all over the mouse, the result being a distraction during gameplay. By localizing the lighting to only the center of the mouse, it still look great without being over the top. Via: msi.com A quick look at its specifications reveal a DPI switch of 400 / 800 / 1600 / 3200 / 6200, a PAW-3327 optical sensor, and six buttons, with two taking their expected place on the inside for thumb access.

In the end, the Clutch GM30 Gaming Mouse is comfortable, attractive, and feels great for gaming and everyday tasks. Its smaller size and extremely light weight are the only two points to keep in mind, not because those are criticisms of the design, but simply because some players enjoy far larger mice that almost require the hand to contort into a claw.

Immerse GH50 Gaming Headset
Via: msi.com The headset is the final piece of hardware for this review, and it too works wonderfully. It offers Virtual 7.1 surround, and put simply, sounds fantastic. In today’s competitive esports scene, having clear and accurate sound is an essential component to dominating the competition.

This is especially true in FPS games where the slightest audio cues can indicate the location of a fight, or in more subtle ways as well. I spent plenty of time testing , , and and found the sound to easily be traced to its in-game origin. On a different note, also worked perfectly with the headset.

There, it was crystal clear the moment a killer began to close in on a survivor, as the heartbeat was felt clearing with the headset. It was a no brainer to stick with the headset even after testing, and now I simply cannot go back to using only my speakers or personal headset. Overall, the sound quality and performance of the Immerse GH50 Gaming Headset is outstanding and exceeded my expectations, and this extends past gaming to music as well.

Via: msi.com The detachable microphone is a nice touch and makes these a great headset on the go or at home, and the folding design and included carrying pouch make transportation easy compared to larger headsets. In terms of presentation, the Immerse GH50 Gaming Headset fits right in with the keyboard and mouse, as all three can be coordinated in the RGB color scheme within the control center, and the customization options are broad.

The headset is on the smaller side compared to other options in the market, making it perfect for travel. This is further complimented by the inline controller, which is larger than on other headsets but again allows for great control while on the go.

At home however it was largely unnecessary. Another important feature of any headset is the comfort level, especially with long-term use in mind. Hours passed while writing for the TheGamer and the over-ear style with lots of padding made the experience comfortable all the way through.

Finally, it should be noted that like the Clutch GM30 Gaming Mouse, the price point of the Immerse GH50 Gaming Headset is surprisingly low. For the superb quality of sound, comfort, and great looking aesthetic, I imagined that this would been priced far higher than it is. As mentioned, all three pieces of hardware can work independently, however, there are a number of extra customization options and overall control within the MSI Dragon Center.

It is not mandatory to use, but the added options are great for making the colors fit your personal style.
The Trio Are Perfect Together
After a few days of using all three pieces of hardware, I swapped back to my own gear, which is used daily for intense writing, listening to music, and playing games. It is no exaggeration to say that the switch back was surprisingly rough.

The satisfying clicks of the low-profile keyboard and their flashy colors were sorely missed, and my own gaming mouse and headset simply felt off, despite being quality products. MSI has created here a set of hardware that works perfectly together and can be purchased for far less than one might expect. Considering the great quality of each, it now feels perfectly natural for MSI to have been the exclusive provider of hardware at BlizzCon 2019.
