Announced in Europe first, customers in the old world can now order the 2019 Mercedes-Benz E-Class in sedan and wagon form. The new body styles are expected to make their first appearances in dealerships come June 2018.
At the same time, the company also announced the a new state-of-the-art driver assistance suite. Replacing the Mercedes-AMG E43 is the new E53, which features a mild-hybrid 48-volt setup paired with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine.

The pairing will deliver 435 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque, sent to the tarmac via an AMG Speedshift nine-speed transmission which feeds a fully variable all-wheel drive system. E53 models will also gain a new AMG Performance steering wheel which comes wrapped in black Nappa leather and features a red dead center harsh mark, along with Mercedes' unique and customizable LED accent lighting. Mercedes-Benz When E-Classes are equipped with the Driver Assistance Package, drivers will now benefit from the same semi-autonomous tech as on offer in the larger S-Class, like Active Distance Assist Distronic and Active Steering Assist.

All E-Class body styles will also now arrive with the latest generation of Mercedes steering wheels, which makes Distronic easier to use than ever. Also new to the lineup is the SportsStyle Package which brings new chrome accenting on the front bumper, a special badge on the front splitter, more chrome elements in the back, along with new tailpipe finishers. Inside, there's a new black fabric headliner, a center console in black open-pore ash wood, and brushed stainless steel sport pedals with black rubber studs.

Mercedes-Benz In addition to the larger trim changes, there are also new choices for center console trim, wheel options, and an available Seat Comfort Package. Mercedes' round analog clock will also be standard on all models. Expect North American pricing to be announced at a later date for the updated E-Class lineup.
