Still in the very early stages of planning, the German supermarket has announced that they plan to open the pub within their Dundonald store in Northern Ireland. Alamy It may seem like a surprising move from the budget supermarket brand, but Lidl is in fact the fastest growing retailer in Northern Ireland, so it makes sense for the chain to build on that success.

I It’s yet to be revealed exactly what punters will be able to buy in the pub, but regular customers of Lidl will most likely expect the cost to reflect the low prices of the supermarket’s existing product ranges. The new store will cost £7 million and a completion date is still to be announced, as are any details on what it will look like.
