Later this year, Audi's equivalent performance EV will also break cover in the battle against Tesla. Previewed by the stunning concept at the 2018 LA Auto Show, the upcoming Audi e-tron GT promises to be a technological tour de force when it arrives later this year. While we've already seen photographs of the Audi e-tron GT undergoing testing, this time our spies managed to record a video of the sleek electric sedan being put through its paces in snowy Scandinavia.
This, then, is our first look at the production Audi e-tron GT in action. Once again, the Audi e-tron GT prototype is disguised in camouflage, but the design will closely resemble the concept. CarBuzz CarBuzz The only major noticeable design changes are the addition of conventional door handles and smaller wheels.

Other than that, the production prototype mirrors the concept's sleek sporty body, so it should be one of the best looking electric sports cars on the market when it goes on sale. We've also already seen the Audi e-tron GT concept on the move when Tony Stark drove it in 'Avengers: Endgame'.

But while the car in the movie was dubbed with fake engine sounds for dramatic effect, the Audi e-tron GT in our spy video is almost completely silent. Being based on the same platform as the Porsche Taycan, the Audi e-tron GT will use a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery offering a WLTP-rated range of 250 miles but we'll have to wait and see how the EPA's stricter rating compares. For comparison, the most efficient base Porsche Taycan 4S has an EPA estimated range of 203 miles, which is less than the Tesla Model S.
CarBuzz CarBuzz Using an 800-volt charging system, it should take around 20 minutes to charge it up to 80 percent. In the concept, a pair of electric motors produce a combined output of 582 horsepower, enabling the e-tron GT to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 149 mph. We're also expecting a less powerful variant to launch at a later date.

We still don't have any photos of the cabin, but Audi's dual-screen setup in the A8 sedan should carry over combining a 10.1-inch display with a lower 8.8-inch screen. Also expect Audi's flagship EV to be equipped with an abundance of advanced driver assist technology. The production Audi e-tron GT is expected to debut later this year, most likely at the 2020 LA Auto Show in November, before arriving in dealers in early 2021.
