UK’s The Royal Box, Princess Diana’s former astrologer Debbie Frank says that the late royal’s eldest son is ‘sensitive’, and wanted to make sure Kate was certainly the one for him before popping the question, as well as having the ‘strength’ to deal with their inevitable extensive royal duties. ‘Kate and William are opposites and they say opposites attract. I think William needs his own rock, his own steadying force, I think that’s what Kate really is for him,’ she explained.

‘He’s very sensitive and I think he actively didn’t want to marry somebody who was going to dissolve into a heap, and Kate’s strength is a source of sustenance to him.’ Getty Images According to Kate: A Biography, a book written in 2013 by Maria Moody, there was one particular moment in the timeline where William realised he wanted to marry Kate: when the pair lived in a beachside house in in Anglesey, Wales, during his time with the Air Ambulance service as a search and rescue pilot. ‘[They] had spoken of marriage and they knew it was on the cards but it hadn’t been the right time, until now,’ Moody wrote at the time. ‘Unlike other royals before him, William employed no domestic staff and Kate took care of it all…’ Getty Images ‘They both knew what was coming and knew that, although many good things would follow, it would also mean a life of increasing duty and less time to themselves.’ Sounds like the duke certainly recognised when he found the right duchess – and three children and thousands of adorable photo ops later, they’re still as strong as ever.
