Those were all brand new C8s that had not yet left the Bowling Green factory where they were assembled. It&#39;s been estimated General Motors lost around $8.2 million, an amount the automaker won&#39;t have a problem absorbing. That&#39;s not the case for a C7 Corvette owner from California.

The good news is that nobody got hurt and the driver walked away without injury. They were probably then taken into custody. The fact that the Corvette didn't kill or seriously injure its occupant is a testament to its solid safety engineering.

Accidents like these don&#39;t happen often and the driver must have been going way too fast in the first place. It&#39;s just something that happens every now and then when inexperienced drivers get behind the wheel of a powerful sports car. Professional track driving lessons can certainly help but it&#39;s ultimately the responsibility of every driver to know their limits.
