The GT8, an example of which is up for sale right now on Bring A Trailer, is actually a C5 Chevy Corvette-based kit car from where it got the majority of its parts. What it doesn&#39;t include is the engine, transmission, shocks, springs, steering wheel, seats and seat belts, wiring harness, and a long list of other items buyers will need in order to get the car up and running. Like any kit car, customers can complete the build at home. Alternatively, for a fee DDR Motorsport can do the entire build for them.

This particular GT8 is powered by a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 from the C5 generation, rated at 345 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. That power is directed to the rear wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual gearbox sourced from a 986 Porsche Boxster S. This powertrain also utilizes a Kennedy Engineered Products adapter plate and clutch assembly, and a PSI Performance engine harness and ECU.

As of this writing, the highest bid was $9,000 but we expect this to climb given there are a few days left until the auction ends. Although this Grullon GT8 doesn&#39;t exactly have a huge amount of horsepower, the power to weight ratio isn&#39;t terrible and it has exotic looks that&#39;ll surely grab plenty of attention and questions.
