Of course, BMW could reconsider but for now we have to accept the reality. BMW also confirmed that under the hood will lie the same powertrain that&#39;ll be used in the new BMW M3 sedan and M4 coupe and convertible: a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine with a 473 horsepower, which increases to 503 hp for the Competition spec. We still don&#39;t know whether the M3 wagon will offer a Competition version, but there&#39;s no reason why not. It all matters on whether BMW thinks there&#39;ll be enough buyers.

The sedan will offer both, as the former will be aimed towards enthusiasts. It&#39;s the same deal for the six-speed manual, which will be an option in the sedan.
