Villa had the better opportunities but it was a tight contest between evenly matched teams and Everton managed the game expertly to see out the win. It is the Toffees' third victory of the season, while Villa now have back-to-back defeats at home.
They have won just one of their past 13 home matches, while Everton have now won three of their five WSL matches under Brian Sorensen.Follow reaction to Aston Villa v Everton and other WSL action
Everton's decision-making in the final third was slow at times, and Villa had the majority of the chances in the first half. The best came when Kenza Dali sprayed the ball out to Kirsty Hanson down the left, who crossed for Laura Blindkilde but her shot went wide.
Everton's breakthrough came against the run of play when Manchester City loanee Jess Park drove towards the penalty area before finding George on the left, and she picked out Graham who delivered a clinical finish. Park, who had been quiet until then, oozed confidence having broken down the Villa defence and released Graham again but her shot was well saved by keeper Anna Leat, in goal in place of Hannah Hampton who is recovering from a head injury.

After the goal Everton were the better team, composed on the ball and they stifled Villa's chances, executing their gameplan to perfection to defend their slim lead. Victory lifts Everton to fourth, level on points with the top three, while Villa slip to sixth with a second defeat of the season.
Everton composed against close rivals
Aston Villa and Everton are well-matched sides, both coming into the game with two wins under their belts this season and level on points in the table.
But under new manager Sorensen, Everton seem to have recovered from the disruption of last season, where off-field issues and three different bosses contributed to them finishing 10th in the WSL. Villa had the best of the chances but lacked cutting edge and couldn't utilise Rachel Daly, who has scored three goals in four WSL matches, as they have previously.
