Saurav Ghosal started his campaign at the 2018 Asian Games by thrashing Sri Lanka's Shamil Wakeel 11-2, 11-2, 11-1 in his Round of 32 match. Saurav faced Tayyab Aslam in the Round of 16 and was able to defeat him 11-5, 11-3, 11-13, 11-8.
