A Third Silent Hill Movie Could Be In Development 9 June 2022 by Oisin Kuhnke Amongst all the potential of a new Silent Hill game, it looks like there might be a new movie adaptation on the way.

If you can believe it, the first Silent Hill film came out almost 20 years ago in 2006. It was made by French director Christophe Gans, generally regarded as visually impressive, but muddled narratively. However, it seems that a new film from Gans could be in development.

Speaking to French site Jeuxvideo (translated by ComicBook.com), Gans confirmed he’s working on a script for a new film. “I’m currently working on it,” said Gans.

However, both films weren’t exactly successful at the box office. Though with the recent successes of the Uncharted, Sonic, and Pokemon film adaptations, it could be that a new Silent Hill film would actually perform well.

And that he is trying to “take into account” what he’s seen recently. Of course, the director confirming he’s working on a script doesn’t necessarily mean a film is actually in the works.
