For 2019, Toyota has already announced minor trim changes for the Prius to make it a bit easier to comprehend. The 2019 Prius will now mirror other Toyota products with L, LE, XLE, and Limited trim levels. Pricing has yet to be announced, though we assume Toyota will continue to stay competitive, even though the Prius now has new rivals to contend with.

We should hear more about pricing for 2019 at the LA Auto Show later this month, along with the announcement of a new Prius variant. Toyota has teased a new Prius, which will be revealed at the 2018 LA Auto Show. Toyota The only detail we have is a blurry picture of a blue Prius with roof racks driving up a snowy mountain.

The side profile appears to be similar to the 2018 model, though the rear end has been covered up by a flurry of snow. There are no shots of the front end of the car, either.

Along with the single image, Toyota said: "Fall is here, winter's near, but the 2019 Prius performs on roads whether snowy or clear." Toyota Toyota Toyota Clearly, the teaser is for an all-wheel-drive Prius, something which has never been offered. In fact, the entire hybrid segment lacks any AWD options. Kia has thought about offering AWD on its Niro SUV, but the model is exclusively front-wheel-drive for now.

Offering AWD could give Toyota a major advantage in snowy markets where FWD just won't cut it. Unless other automakers jump on board with more AWD hybrids, the Prius could have a segment all to itself. Toyota
